It’s your big day! Congratulations! This is a big milestone in your life as everyone else is told you thus far. I just like trying to take a selfie, if the lighting is not right, if the locations not right, or if the pose isn’t right the photo never sees the light of day. So here are a few tips to help the bride look her best in the photos.

SMILE! 🙂

SMILE!! Remember that there are cameras everywhere on the day of your wedding so…..if you’re happy and you know it….SMILE….a lot!! Try to relax and enjoy YOUR day! (sorry for the bad humor, but you will hear a lot more of it)

Understand your Dress

Before your wedding day, get to know your dress. Sometimes there are special things about your dress that will make it much easier to put on (techniques, tools, etc.). Practice putting your dress on. It will make getting ready to run much more smoothly. Plus it’s one less thing you have to stress about going wrong

Make a list of photos

Be sure to have all your important details together for us when we arrive on the wedding day, but preferably a few days before. We will send over a general list of items that we suggest you bring with you. Use it as a checklist when you are packing up for the day! Having those items all together and ready for us to photograph saves tons of time, energy (and stress)!

Plan for the best

Be ready on TIME! Allow for things to take longer than you expect like hair, makeup, etc. We want you to get the most out of the time that we are there. Study our estimated timeline we sent over and share with your bridal party and vendors so everyone is prepared!!

LOL!

Practice laughing together, the “infamous” dip photo, and just kissing on command! Remember when you kiss to close those eyes and relax those lips! Avoid fish lips!

Show the love!

Get close! When you stand next to each other, you should always be touching! Wrap your arms around each other or hold hands! Even a few inches of space looks like a wide gap in a picture! Your closeness and love for each other will shine through! Expect to kiss and love on each other a lot!

Smile (again)

Be sure when walking down the aisle (before & after) to smile and look up or at your man, hold that bouquet in the air or even steal a little kiss at the end of the aisle–show us your excitement!!

The ring shot

Believe it or not, there is a “correct way” to put on your rings during the ceremony! Be sure to position your fingers on the top and bottom of the ring, not the sides, so as to not obstruct the shot!

Take your time

When throwing your bouquet at the reception, take your time and play with the crowd! This gives us time to capture you holding your flowers, the crowd behind you and the toss & catch!

Our number one rule

Our number one rule for all of our sessions is to simply RELAX and have some fun! Try not to show up to your session overwhelmed and stressed. Our goal is to capture you right where you are! Often times candid photos end up being favorites over a more posed, “looking at the camera” one! Be prepared to play, act silly, and love on each other!
