1. Pixabay
Probably the most well-known, it boasts over 1.8 million pieces of media all free to download. All work is licensed under the Creative Commons, meaning you can use and edit the work for commercial purposes without giving any credit. But please give the artist some recognition if you can, it will mean a lot to them.
2. Pexels
Pexels is my favorite, and have contributed almost 400 pieces myself to the site. by default searches for photos, but you can quickly toggle your searches to videos. Again this collection is Licensed under the Creative Commons. But one thing that stands out is they pull in a ton of images from Pixabay.
3. Videvo
Based on a freemium model, Videvo’s collection has lots of free stock video, but everything else you might need to create a video, from sound effects and music to motion graphic templates.
Licensing is a little more complicated on Videvo. Well, there’s still a ton of Creative Commons licensed content, not all that falls under the same rules. So be careful with what you are doing and give the Artist credit where credit is due.
4. Videezy
This is another freemium model, where there are clips that are free to use for both personal and commercial, but you have to either credit the creator or buy credits to purchase the footage. Still a great way to find a large number of free stock videos for your project.
5. Vidsplay
This is the first of the smaller website that offers high-quality free content for commercial use. While the smaller sites like this might not have as much to offer, they do offer the quality you have to dig for on the larger sites.
6. Dareful
Part of the paid subscription business story blocks, Dareful offers new videos that are all in 4k quality. Sign up with your email, and you’ll have access to their entire collection of mostly drone shots. You are covered by Creative Commons 4.0 so you can use this content for any use you would like.
7. Distill
The moto 10 free videos delivered to your inbox every 10 days seems to be something that they want you to know. While the site is a little hard to use, the quality of the video content is nothing to laugh at. its collection is made for creatives by creatives.
8. Life of Vids
While the site is a little confusing Life of Vids is from Leeroy, an advertising agency in Montreal, Canada. while there are no copyright restrictions on the media they limit the redistribution on other sites is limited to 10 videos.
9. Splitshire
Finally, we have Splitshire created by Daniel Nanescu, to offer his media free. while the collection is primarily drone footage, there are other amazing videos in the collection as well. Just keep in mind this footage can’t be used in any inappropriate or political situation.
